We are Marble Raft

Marble Raft is the vessel of Swedish friends Olle Söderström and Gabrielle Baker. Together we conjure alternative pop-sagas with an escapist approach, building scenes of sound using an abundance of holy machines, devices and instruments. Among them buzzing string machines, chiming guitars, eerie mellotron and quite a few bells. Always with a foundation of pure melodic pop to be found underneath the hazy wall of sound.

And fear not. With escapism as fuel the raft stays afloat despite being made out of marble.

Marble Raft was crafted a few years ago out of our mutual love for the etheral and the naive. Instead of focusing on the external world we turn our gaze inwards, building stories of sound. The inspiration comes from oddities such as old maps, stories of exploration and exotic flowers.
